John Riley

    Associate Pastor

John served as the pastor of Macedonia from 1997-2020. He continues to help lead the congregation, serving as the associate pastor.  He and his wife, Dana, have three grown children and three grandchildren. Originally from New York, John moved to the Atlanta area when he was nine years old. He has a degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Georgia State University, another one in Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a doctorate from Luther Rice University.
He loves music and books. For the past five years he has been presenting a program called Harp Guitars: A Musical Journey in middle schools, high schools, and colleges, and in doing so has been able to interact with thousands of students. He has also been teaching a senior adult Bible study at a local retirement community for almost twenty years. John's favorite verses are John 4:24, 1 John 1:9, and 1 John 3:2. What gives him the most joy is to see someone come to know Jesus as his or her Savior and Lord.

An avid reader, John is known to read several books per week.
